Jill Daines

Jill started her working life as a graduate bi-lingual secretary, working for an oriental carpet import/export business in The Barbican in London, UK. She improved her written and spoken German language skills and attended several trade fairs in Germany.

Then, after a brief spell in Northampton working in a pensions department, she returned to London, where she worked as the Personal Assistant to the Senior Partner of a large, multi-national company of Chartered Quantity Surveyors.

After seven years she decided it was time to move on and joined Mars Corporate Services in their legal department in Slough, UK, but within a couple of months was invited back to her old firm in order to lead a new Marketing and Business Development Department – a great opportunity to branch out, travel and become part of the decision-making team.

Career progression was suspended by the arrival of two children, so Jill became a full time Mum for the next few years, taking part-time jobs along the way. Jill helped to run a local Toy Library and was actively involved in the children’s schools, acting as Secretary and then Chair, of the Parent Teacher Association.

Shortly after this, Jill was employed by Surrey Police as civilian staff and became Neighbourhood Watch Manager for Farnham and Waverley districts, in Surrey, UK. She then joined their role-play team, helping to train new police recruits. This involved enacting different scenarios in real-life settings, in order to put the trainees on the spot and test their skill levels. Her roles included a drug dealer, a nasty neighbour, a thief, plus a serial shoplifter in a major supermarket; much to the bemusement of the other shoppers, who usually failed to spot the signs announcing that a Police training exercise was in progress!

Jill was instrumental in establishing Oleum Khaos Limited, bringing to the fore her Linguistic, Administrative and Company Secretary, plus Marketing, skills. She currently looks after the property business, as well as providing many of the Business Assistance Services.
